Using Your Insurance at fysio360

Whether or not you have a referral, insurance can cover part of your treatment. Here’s how that works in Denmark.

Health insurance and physiotherapy overlap more than most people expect in Denmark — often through channels you wouldn’t automatically think of as “insurance.” In most cases, we can settle directly with your provider, so you’re not left paying everything upfront and waiting to be reimbursed.

What kind of insurance counts

This can be workplace health insurance provided by your employer, health cover that comes through your pension provider (a common setup in Denmark), a private supplementary policy, or an international health insurance plan if you’ve moved to Denmark from abroad. If you’re not sure whether yours covers physiotherapy, your provider can confirm it for you.

How coverage typically works

Health insurance arranged through a Danish employer or pension provider commonly bundles both illness-related cover (“sundhedsforsikring”) and accident cover (“ulykkesforsikring”) into the same policy. In practice, that means if it’s a Danish provider, physiotherapy is usually covered under one heading or the other — you don’t need to work out which one applies to your case.

Can’t see your provider above? If it’s a Danish insurance company, we work with it too — a missing logo here shouldn’t stop you from booking. See the full, up-to-date list on our practical information page.

The easiest way: direct settlement

Most insurance providers can issue what’s called a “payment guarantee” — sometimes called a pre-approval or treatment guarantee — a document confirming they’ll cover your treatment.

  1. Ask your insurance provider for a payment guarantee for physiotherapy at fysio360.
  2. Send it to info@fysio360.dk, along with who you’ve booked your session with.
  3. We take it from there and bill your insurer directly — you typically won’t pay anything upfront for the part they cover.

If your provider doesn’t offer direct settlement

Some insurers only reimburse after the fact rather than settling directly with us. In that case, you simply pay as usual — either your referral price or our self-pay price — and then submit your receipt to your insurer for reimbursement, following their own process.

A referral and insurance are two separate things

Having a referral from your GP and having insurance aren’t the same, and they can apply at the same time. A referral changes the price you’re charged in the first place. Insurance can then cover part or all of whatever amount you end up paying — whether that’s the referral price or the full price.

Not sure exactly what your policy covers? You don’t need to solve that before booking — book your first session directly and we’ll help you sort out the insurance side once you’re in, or call us first on 93 60 36 09 if you’d rather check beforehand.
